8oz Stickhandling Ball - 3 Pack NEON RED
Smarthockey Training Balls are the #1 off-ice training balls in the world. They are used by top pro, collegiate and junior players across North America and Europe as an essential part of their off-ice skills development. The Smarthockey MAXX Stickhandling & Shooting Ball helps players build stronger forearms and hands for a harder more accurate shot. At just over 8 oz (228 g), the MAXX is almost double the weight of the Smarthockey ORIGINAL and feels 2X (12oz) as heavy as an ice hockey puck. The patented MAXX 2-piece ball technology combines an ultra durable Surlyn shell with a steel core. The solid core covered by a Surlyn shell eliminates any pliancy or "smushing" of the ball between the stick and the training surface. The diameter of the ball is 2.18" making the height at which it contacts the stick 1.09" which is less than one tenth of an inch higher than an ice hockey puck. The added weight combined with the roll and contact height of the MAXX ball strengthens a player's wrists simply by stickhandling and shooting it. Warm up before games and practices or train in your garage, basement, on a tennis court, basketball court, paved street or driveway. As the name suggests, it's the only ball players can use for stickhandling, shooting and passing drills.
PATENTED 2-PIECE WEIGHTED HOCKEY TRAINING BALL: There’s a lot of technology in this weighted ball. First, we used the same cut-proof Surlyn that is used in our Original Smarthockey Ball. Then we used a stainless steel core to add the weight. The combination of the shell and the core created a size to weight ratio that earned us a patent. It’s the only ball that rolls as smoothly as a puck slides on ice, but is so heavy that it strengthens your wrists when you shoot or stickhandle it.
STRONGER FOREARMS AND WRISTS FOR A HARDER, QUICKER SHOT AND BETTER PUCK CONTROL: Have you ever seen a picture of Gordie Howe’s forearms? Or how about Rick Nash’s, Ovechkin’s or Teemu Selanne’s forearms? They all look like Popeye’s forearms after he’s eaten spinach and they could all fire the puck. You want a wrist shot as hard as theirs? Then you have to work at it. 100 shots and 15 minutes of stickhandling with the Smarthockey Heavy Ball every night and you’ll be on your way.
2X THE WEIGHT WITH SAME BOUNCE, SLIDE & CONTACT HEIGHT AS AN ICE HOCKEY PUCK: At just over 8 oz (228 g), the MAXX is almost double the weight of the Smarthockey ORIGINAL Training Ball and feels 2X (12oz) as heavy as an ice hockey puck. The contact height 1.09" which is less than one tenth of an inch higher than an ice hockey puck. The added weight combined with the roll and contact height of the MAXX ball strengthens a player's wrists simply by stickhandling and shooting it.
ONLY WEIGHTED TRAINING BALL DURABLE ENOUGH FOR STICK HANDLING, SHOOTING & PASSING: We wanted players to be able to work on their stickhandling, shooting and passing, so we knew our ball had to be durable. We made the cover with the same Surlyn formula that was used in Titleist golf balls back in 1997. We chose this formula because it’s “slap shot proof”. Since 2001, we’ve only had a handful of balls returned and most of them were because they aren’t “dog-proof”.
